"of innocence and delight" ~

....
“The smell of good bread baking, like the sound of lightly flowing water,
is indescribable in its evocation of innocence and delight."
M.F.K. Fisher, The Art of Eating

it's quiet here today
slow
pj's are still on
shuffling around
received snail mail
the words are bursting at the seams with love
it's the kind of letter you hold close to your chest after reading it
sigh
no shower yet
no rushing around
banana bread is pure love
i need this day
may i ask what you are reading
?
happy days my friends
i am thinking of you

Just yesterday I picked up Somerset Life and loved, loved your pages. I had to share with my husband. Just beautiful!
I also just finished Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese. Sad, but good.
Yummm, banana bread looks and sounds good here. Enjoy your slow day. I had a slow start, but now must go read to some kids at the elementary school nearby.

Slow days are some of best days! I'm not reading much except blogs and my own writing as I edit and rewrite.

Have a wonderful evening!

Ohhh...a day of shuffling around in jammies is just what I need. Luckily I've got all of next week OFF. Shuffling jammy days here I come!

As far as reading? Nothing at the moment. Waiting on a book on hold from the library...but can't remember what it is it's been so long. I think it may have been a cook book? lol

Still reading The Snow Child. It's beautifully written, the kind of book you read slowly to savour the language and imagery ... I love those days of shuffling around in pjs ...

Happy Days and weekend to you, my friend. I'm re-reading one of my favorites: Jane Eyre. Almost toward the end of it. Always a wonderful read.

Reading The Hunger Games to see if my 9 year old daugther can/should read it along with most of her friends. I decided no about 20 pages in...but have kept reading out of curiosity (and because it's an easy read). It's unsettling...
