a few basics ~

....
it's spring break...
my son wants to learn how to cook, so i will hand him a few basics, over the break. : )

i would love to take time and photograph a field of poppies
eat fried cheese curds
send a love letter
fill the jadeite crock my mother gave me with lots of utensils
paint that old cabinet
go deep into this book
blow bubbles with my teenagers
share popcorn
fill a journal
do everything i can to see this movie found via here.

it might be quiet here for a bit...

happy days my friends
you are loved.
x

I am not even kidding to you, one of the best meals I ever had, was at your kitchen table. Matt is right when he says your son, is learning from the best.

I miss you when it's quiet here...but family first, always.

You are a good mom...your kids are blessed. And a blessing I'm sure!

What are some of the basics you will be sharing with your son? I have been sharing easy basics with Seth recently, too...ya know, in preparation for him going to college year after next. I know...it's a long way away. But not really...before I know it he will be flying our nest. I can't hardly type that without tears welling up...deep sigh...

Anyway...what are some good basics for young men to have when living in the world on their own?

well. one of these days perhaps me too can learn from you. i don't own a stove - will that be a problem? ahhh, it will? then perhaps i will just listen and nibble and stir and nibble. :)

I think one of my greatest joys was teaching my babies to cook. As each of my babies has grown and left home I have put together a special book of recipes from meals we prepared together, old family recipes and just recipes I know they love, thought you might like the idea for your babies too. Enjoy your break Christina.

The MN state fair has the best cheese curds you've ever tasted... just a little push ;)

So great that your son wants to learn how to cook! I know too many 30-something men who can only do pizza and grilled cheese :/

Hello Sweet Christina:)
It's been a while -- how are you? I saw your most beautiful article in the latest Somerset Life -- so moving, just as your words and photos always are. I am trying to reach you via email with an important question, but can't seem to find a contact link on your blog. Would you mind sending me an email via the contact form on my blog at susantuttlephotography.com? That way I will know how to reach you. Thank you dear. XO
