such light on the weekend`

my tomatoes are starting to bloom, and i am over the moon, about that. ; )  the weather was so very hot this weekend, but oh, the light was just beautiful, at the days end. i didn't get out too much, cause we had many projects around the house, that we just couldn't put off any longer. the years school bins were cleaned out, grades and writing samples from the teenagers, were put in portfolios and moved out of the middle of everything. simple walks in the garden and oohing and ahhing over lightning bugs, was just enough. that and dinner on the grill.

i hope you had a wonderful weekend, my friends.

xoxo

i want to try my hand at growing tomatoes one day.
my most favorite veggie ( or is it considered a fruit) is a summer tomatoe ripe off the vine. i spent many a summers at my grandparents home in south georgia just eating them in their back yard.
yummy.
that's the prettiest skillet of sauteed mushrooms i've ever seen!

Mmm... the mushrooms in the cast iron pan over the grill look so good, Christina. And yes! Don't you just love the sight of lightning bugs in the evenings? I love it! And I like the sound of crickets and cicadas in the warm sun, too. There's one singing its heart out outside my window right this very moment. Hard to believe that such a small insect can make such a loud sound...it's very impressive!

Glad to hear that you are having a relaxing summer with your family, Christina.

It was a good weekend. I felt like I am finally healthy again after being sick coming home from travels. More energy now and a visit to a farm made all the more special. Grilling, oh those mushrooms look divine. Light is everything, it makes us feel happy.
