a spark of color

a spark of color here today. another gray day for us. the rain + wind is blowing and it's a cold one.
as you can see there are still m&m's in the jar, from valentines day. that's a good thing. ; )

a spicy arroz con pollo is on the menu here. already in the crock pot.

we're looking to pick another read for the semester. i am hoping to get a few more in, before the end of the  school year. any suggestions on a high school level book?

my daffodils are still smiling
letters are being written
jotting down a list of favorite books to share here. deep sigh for love ; )
packages ready to be sent
and i am working on some cards for my shop~ oh yes i am ; )

it's pouring rain
im claiming the first cup of afternoon tea
and the heater is humming
i am grateful

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.  Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.  Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.  Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.  One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return."
~Mary Jean Iron

happy day, dear friends.

Such a colorful photo. :-) that chocolate would be gone by now in our house. It's rainy and grey here as well. I can't wait to see your list of favorite books.
And that quote by Mary Jean Iron is one of my all time favorites!

The Book Thief is a splendid book.

Love that jar ... yum, chocolate candy.

Today we had a bit of everything weather-wise ~ sunshine, rain, even a little hail. The sun is shining brightly now, though.

I once taught a high school multi-cultural literature class. We read: The House on Mango Street, The Good Earth, and I know Why The Caged Bird Sings. Love them all.

Love the Turquoise/Rose lid on your candy jar.

Have you read Ender's Game? It's science fiction, but the underlying story is amazingly powerful. I cry every time I read it. (And I don't think you're really supposed to...) xoxo
