i love that it's slow around here today. i went on a girly trip, to target this weekend. i haven't been there in ages. i bought some cute little bowls~ sigh for the colors blue and white, together. and then of course i had to grab my favorite, black and white, trail mix, to go inside. ; )
made it to the asian market, as well. do you want to hear something that truly tickles me pink?? next door to the asian market, there is a new, jamaican restaurant. now that just gets me, deep in the heart. so... i didn't have time to try the restaurant, but i will this weekend. i will bring my camera too. i wanna taste the patties and the cocoa bread... dem rice an peas. you think they are ready for me? i wish you were here, you could come too, so i could taste, your choices as well. red stripe? ; )
i heard such amazing things, about this book, so i ordered it. can't wait for it to arrive.
how are you? and by the way... what cha readin?
xoxo
23 ladlefuls of love:
Hey Christina,
Love the bowls, love Target, and love, love trailmix. I checked out the giveaway from the last post and I can't get to it. Any thoughts?

I do wish I could come and visit the jamaican restaurant with you. Yummmy! Can't wait to hear all about it. Reading two books at the moment: light romance book by Susan Wiggs and National Geographic Landscape Photography, plus trying to get caught up on magazines. It is good I have let some go, no time to spend on the ones that don't make my heart sing.
hi leslie* not sure what's going on with that link. maybe caroline's site is temp down. hmm... i will let you know if i hear anything.
xo
Oh please report back to us on that book-it looks inspiring. I would love nothing more than to show up at your door with a couple of ice cold Red Stripes and a basket of film. (muffins just wouldn't make you as happy, I'm guessing)
Happy day Christina xo
I would so share a lunch with you...wouldn't that be fun? And you could order for us...so I could hear you say, "dem rice an peas"...love it!
I'm not reading at this time...well, aside from my bible each morning...1 Samuel is amazing...and 2 Samuel as well.
What I am doing is writing a pamphlet on fasting to go along with our bible study coming up on Daniel.
Love the little bowl...it looks so nice against that dark wood table top.
xoxo
Hey sweetie...OK...all my blogs were disabled last night...some random blogger fluke. I am recovering from my slight heart attack. The like to the give away is working and I am announcing the winner tomorrow. Holy moly...what a nightmare!
So how am I you ask? Better now! :)
Pretty bowl. Sounds like a wonderfully fun weekend. I can't wait to hear about the new restaurant you found to try out. That does look like a good book!
Now, I suddenly have a craving for trail mix :) OMGoodness, I want to be you if you went to Target and only came out with some bowls & trail mix. LOL! My usual routine is to run in for like -- paperclips or something quick...and I always come out $150.00 later - with things I never knew I needed - AND CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT! Ha, ha, ha
The book you linked to sounds interesting. I just got "Miles to go Before I Sleep" by Jackie Nink Pflug. I saw an interview with her on CNN, and the book sounds very inspirational as well. I'm about to crack it open today.

Have a great evening. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos & the book link. xo
I'm not reading anything at the moment. That book sounds like a good one though. Humm...now I'm hungry, and wish I had a Red Stripe to wash it all down!
thank you for the book link, Christina... wish i was there for the jamaican restaurant experience - i will welcome photos and all expressions of mmm..mmm..good.
book? recently finished "The Knitting Circle" by Ann Hood...simple, compassionate and lingers on and on even after you read the last word...makes me wish I could knit...maybe I will someday...
enjoy your evening. -xok.
Yummm ... West Indian food; my dad is from the West Indies, and so I grew up on that food. This post stirs in me a craving ...
Currently no reading anything. Rather, I am on a writing, sketching and painting jag.
tiffany* uhem... no, not just trail mix and bowls... omgoodness!!! lmao!!! 160.00 later. i got such goodies.
no wonder i stay away from target. ...books, magazines, scarves, animal crackers, paper towels, history videos. shall i stop there? lmao!
XO
LOL! Christina, I'm soooooo glad I'm not alone!
I'M BACK :)
You know what? I WANT to be you anyway...it would mean I could take beautiful pictures. It's a winning situation :)
God Bless & XO (Wink!)
The book looks great. I hear my husband saying those words on an almost daily basis; it would be wonderful to read a book on them.
Today I've been reading childhood books of mine and my mum's!! Such gorgeous, innocent stories. Looking forward to hearing how the Jamaican restaurant goes!
After having it on my bedside table for a long time, I am finally reading "What is the What" by Dave Eggers....a story of the "Lost Boys" of Sudan....very heart rending...very well written...
How I would love to go to a Jamaican restaurant with you! It would be a treat!
It would be an honor to have lunch with you - I could drill you on how you make everything so dang beautiful! (LOL!) PS: I'm reading "Bittersweet; thoughts on change, grace & learning the hard way." BUT, in the car, I'm listening to book on CD, "While My Sister Sleeps", by Barbara Delinsky. Yay! :-)
Christina, the bowl is oh so lovely, I like your taste and the one inside as well ;-) I wonder what you gonna tell us about this book, you are so full of fantastic ideas. And of course I cannot wait for you to discover that restaurant, I hope you will have the best time! sending love.
i've been immersed in the holy book. i wrote JAH is warm, like coco bread fresh from the oven, but then erased it. so funny to find coco bread on your mind too ;)
i need a target run..perhaps this weekend. and the book looks good.
i'm reading - the girl that chased the moon. i am reminded in a way of big fish. i love that.
char* i will have to add that one, to my list... 'cause i loved "big fish". adored it! xoxo
Your spot on the web is a breath of fresh air. I feel rested just looking at it. (And also a little hungry.)
I'm reading "Gone With the Wind." Just moved to the south, so it feels appropriate.
