"orange moon"

slow
slow
here.
i have blueberries on my mind, for this weekend. maybe something creative from my kitchen. ; )
it's the weekend my friends ~ spend some time doing nothing, dip your toes, in the water, look into the eyes of the ones you love, say amen, spread your arms wide for a hug, let that guy who has a frozen pizza and a 6 pack of red stripe, go ahead of you, in the grocery store. ; )
show some love~

i so cannot stop listening, to this song today. erykah  reflects the most beautiful light.

"... brighter than ever before, i am an orange moon and i shine so bright cause i reflect the light of my sun..."

one love
one light, my friends.

Like minds think alike-- I'm thinking blueberry scones this weekend for the big basket of the little gems I have. YUM.

And I love how you always crop your photos just right. You have a great eye.

Happy weekend, jj

i am just wondering, what you do to get this light, like this?? lol Amazing. Do you cropped these in photo shop?
Could you give any photo hints? I am in a public photo class and have no clue, what I an doing. Can you share some tips? I can see in my mind, what I want to shoot but to get it on camera, is a different story. I look at me work for class and it's not good enough to me.
Would you ever give a class? Online?

PS; I am in the 10th grade.

Hi from St. Croix, : )
One light, for sure. / Much respect, I love your work.

jean- claude* : ) you made me smile.
i really didn't do anything special for the light. i just caught it at the right time, when the sun was setting. i am fascinated by light. as we all are, right? : ) these are straight out of the camera- no fixin. lol
when in a low light situation, it helps to make sure your iso is down, adjust up from there, til your photo has good lighting and isn't blurred. 100- 200- 400...until it looks manageable through your lens. when i say manageable, I mean, does it look good enough, to where you won't have to fake it, in photoshop, and can get a decent looking shot.

as for cropping... i have done very little photo cropping, since a photo mentor told me to get the shot and crop inside the lens ( with my eye) so i don't have to crop when i see the photo out on my computer. great lesson i learned. BUT ultimately the best advice i could give is, keep shooting, and shoot what you love, how you see it. let your style shine.
here is a secret, i can barely see when a shot of mine is good, i take the word of kind strangers, mostly. and if they find passion in my work or can feel the mood, i am conveying... it's all good. not always the case, but i shoot from the heart, so i am cool with most photos.

insert here: art directors are god's children too. lol!!! kidding... heh heh.

go easy on yourself, i bet your photos are an amazing reflection of you.
and by the way, i am all over the place in this comment, so i bet you could guess, that i wouldn't be any good, at teaching. lol
have fun behind the lens.
Much respect, friend.
Blessings.
Ps: thank you~

Okay, then -- I'm going to listen to some Ms Badu right now.

She lives in Texas you know . . . and the moon really does look orange there on certain hot muggy summer nights.

I just wish that I had a Red Stripe to hand!

blueberries? I live down the road from a blueberry farm. Here is one of my favourite ways to preserve that gorgeous flavour for some savoury goodness in the winter ....
Ingredients
3 cup(s) fresh blueberries; crushed
1/2 cup(s) firmly packed torn fresh basil leaves
4 cup(s) white wine vinegar
Fresh basil leaves; (optional)
Directions
Combine crushed fresh blueberries and 1/2 cup torn basil in a large, sterilized wide-mouthed jar, and set aside.
Place vinegar in a medium nonaluminum saucepan, and bring to a boil.
Pour hot vinegar over blueberry mixture; cover jar, and let stand at room temperature for 2 weeks.
Yield: 4 cups serving size: 1 tablespoon.
Notes: this is a great start for most any salad dressing and makes a perfect hostess gift.
Strain vinegar through several layers of cheesecloth into decorative jars; discard blueberry pulp.
Add additional basil leaves to jars, if desired.
Seal jars with a cork or other airtight lid.
(I use sterilized proper sealers and do a quick heat boil to seal)
