hopeful threads and yellow blossoms

"and the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."
~anais nin

i am relating to this beautiful quote. it has become my truth for the last couple of months... but these last few weeks, anais nin, and her words, have spoken to me- hanging on my pale colored wall... reminding me...

we are artist, and sometimes, artists must hang on to the frailest, of hopeful threads. i am up for the journey. : )

it's a very warm morning here, as i sip my vanilla coffee, slowly, slowly.

oh, we are SO ready to wrap up our school days, for the next couple of weeks, at least. sigh, is summer around the corner? i need to pick out a few summer reads, for us. love love~

in the photos above, are two more of my, goodwill finds. a sweet little, white, milk glass vase, which holds my yellow blossoms, and an old platter, with etched pink, cherry blossoms, decorating it's top. they both sit proudly on our bedroom dresser. the platter is such a pretty place, to set our watches and wedding rings at night.

jamaica you are in my prayers. i love you deeply. Jah, please watch over, the people.

one love~

Love the milk glass. We used all milk glass at Holly's vintage outside wedding in 2007. It was beautiful, not to mention the fun of the hunt for milk glass over the prior years when she knew how she wanted her wedding to be.

HOpe you are having a beautiful week!

What beautiful ranunculus blossoms, Christina! I return to that Nin quote often, too. She captures just what it means to be an artist, to take a risk, to truly LIVE. Thanks for this beautiful post, my sweet.

Anais Nin's words really speak to me, too. As does that white vase! My grandmother used to have a vase like that and I can't help wonder where it ended up. (I hope it's holding some yellow rananculus, or something equally beautiful.)

So sad about Jamaica.
