this rainy sunday morning

this rainy sunday morning brings...
elephant ears/fried dough, reminding me of carnivals and ferris wheels
i long to photograph a ferris wheel~ wish 1 million and nine ; )
hot coffee
a cozy chair next to the window
and deep sighs for wanting this book
rain and more rain on the roof, leaving poetry within each drop
yellow tulips bloom in the garden
of course there's miles davis, because rainy days, beg for miles on vinyl
slow
slow
peace~

It is a quiet, grey day here, too, allowing all of us just to rest and rejuvenate ~ no sun beckoning us outside to play!

My mom used to make "elephant ears" for us, but they were peanut butter and honey sandwiches, on one slice of bread, folded diagonally ~ a favorite!

I begged my mom to make me these instead of cake on birthday when I turned 6. I love them so much. Delicious images!

Once a year I allow myself a heaveanly treat of fried dough...sprinkled with sugar and maybe just a little cinnamon...and I always get it at our local fair...with the ferris wheel right nearby...this year I will think of you and take pics of my fried dough and the ferris wheel:)
