as far as i have gotten today

not too much going on around here today. very quiet.
im thinking of grilling some veggies today, tossing them with pasta and crumbling a nice cheese over the top. and pineapple, i could place that on the grill as well, and serve it along side a warmed bowl of caramel, for dessert.

my "edible brooklyn magazine" arrived, and it's wonderful...
i miss n.y.

trip, my love, was it you that used the last of the coffee, yesterday?
my french coffee press sits empty, as well as my cup. hmm...
i still love you deeply, but you must fix this problem by morning...
and if you add a croissant to the mix, no one will get hurt : )

i am in need of a easy read, nothing that makes me think too hard...what will it be?
having allergies bites but oh, how i love spring.

i want to learn to make jam. i think i can... i think i can... ; )

no comb through the curls, i think my socks match, so that is a plus. : )
having fun with these straws and my camera, is as far as i have gotten today, and that suits me just fine.
it's so about the moment. yes indeed, it is. life is good.
one love~

50 ladlefuls of love:

Oh it sounds so lovely. I believe you'll make the most delicious jam ever. I really do. My mom makes a jam each summer, an early summer jam of rose petals. It is so delicate and delightful on the tongue. Goes perfect on croissants.

Red and white stripes...swoon. Any day that begins with them is going to be a good one. Thank you for the jump start! I do hope your cup runneth over soon, and with croissants too.

I'm stunned at how beautiful you can make a glass of straws look. I look forward to reading your blog regularly.

The kindness of your heart is made clear in the lovely way to you state that there is no coffee...in my house, using the last of the coffee and not replacing it by morning is grounds for some serious trouble (not to mention the extreme level of crankiness!)

Beautiful post, as always.
Peace.

Pasta and veggies are always good! You just can't miss with that combo!

You could have joined "Rednesday" today with those red striped straws!
Come over and take a look...

I don't have an easy read to recommend--I'm racing my way through The Fountainhead right now and loving it!!! but it's a good distraction from the hard labor....

you can totally make jam. I'm sure you're a jam whiz. I can't wait to hear what you come up with.

when i find myself want simple and easy to read, i go back to the comfortable books that i've read before. usually i can find something new.

These straws make me happy...seriously. xo

A simple read...hmmm...I just read an interesting book that was assigned for my class, Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. She wrote it in the early 50's, but it's so amazing how I could completely relate to her as a woman...both then and now. Also...Anne Lamott is always fabulous. Not compleltely light...but good and true and real.

Dinner sounds great...what time should I be there? :)

xoxo

I just scratched my first mosquito bite today . . . and ate some watermelon, sitting by the pool. Spring in almost summer in Houston, but next week I will be back in England where the temperature is still in the 50s!

I love these cheerful straws. Your pictures are like no one else's.

Hope you get a fresh pot of coffee tomorrow morning!

Oh I was just going to make the exact same dinner tonight, I kid you not. But then after milling around for a few hours at the mall {it's raining here and I needed exercise} I got lazy and picked up take-out instead. You put me to shame. And those straws are just lovely! Hope your week is going as well as your beautiful photos!

Beautiful photos, Christina! You know I love those paper straws, too. Paper straws and baker's twine make me happy every time.

As far as a good light read goes, Relyn gave me a copy of The Sugar Queen a while back--that was a lot of fun and no stress on the brain! Sometimes we need that! lol xoxo

Late last summer, I looked for colorful straws to use for photos (well, and for drinking, but mostly for photos). Never did find any. Now, you have whet my appetite again (hopefully in time this year). Love, love, love these. And I am loving your use of textures!

I'm back again, these straws have been on my mind. Wondering how you got that effect? Was it in the digital editing after or in the lense? You must let me know, I am dreaming about this sepia dreamy toned world!
