the everyday
happy wednesday! it's all about lists over here. i am planning our easter menu. i'm thinking of a few games and books to add to easter sunday, as well. oh yes, there must be books. i was thinking of setting up a bingo and game area, on my old chipped antique table. of course keeping what's important about the day, close to my heart. : ) slow... slow. no worries, come and relax. eat, read, fall asleep under handmade quilts. give thanks.
i am looking for a good, lemon dessert recipe. do you have one? keep in mind, i am no baker, but i am willing to try. ; ) i love lemon. i think a nice lemon dessert, will clean the palate just right, after a tasty easter dinner.
today is ponytail hair + converse sneaks. flipping through the current issue of food and wine magazine~ they have a lovely section, on food and wine pairings. it's feeding the part of my soul, that is a want to be sommelier. swoon!
still enjoying the textures, by kim klassen. love, love them. my daughter wants me to frame this one. me, framing one of my photos? i might just try that. : )
just enjoying the everyday, over here. how about you?
one love~

ok! now you have done it! i want these textures! are you sure this is your first time using textures?? this looks like a painting!! and your tulips. omg!! i will have to look into getting these.
BEAUTIFUL!
XO
ps: do you have an etsy shop??
I need to do just that...start the Easter planning since that is now my family's obligation to host!
I don't have a good lemon recipe, but I have a to-die-for Pineapple Dream Tart. Bright yellow (with the addition of food coloring) piled high with fresh berries of all sorts. It is the sort of thing one sees on the cover of a magazine (actually it was), fresh, springy, colorful and really lo-cal. Email me if you want the recipe.... enjoytheday{at}tesoritrovati{dot}com
Enjoy the day!
Erin
Love the photo--so dreamy and peaceful. Your Easter sounds like the perfect day.
Your daughter is spot on! This is gorgeous and would make a lovely framed piece of art.
Happy Happy Easter preparations!
Yes, there must be books. Happy planning. How about good old fashioned lemon bars? I haven't tried this recipe, but it sure looks GOOD! http://smittenkitchen.com/2008/01/lemon-bars/
I LOVE THIS PHOTOGRAPH. So simple. So cottage. So country.
I love making a simple cheesecake with lemon/clementine curd on the side. It's so popular in my family that I make it about six times a year. Try them out, both very simple recipes!

I'm in love with your picture! just had a quick look at Kim's textures and they're fabulous...
Now about serious things, how about trying a lemon sherbet, it might be easier than baking ? :-)
Happy Easter to you, dear Christina !
xoxo
Your plans sound lovely. It makes me want to get very cozy and slow down a little. Life seems so hectic right now...I need to calm it down.
Easy lemon desert: make a simple sweet short bread tart crust and bake it. Fill with a mixture of cream cream and lemon curd. Top with fresh berries. I think one block of cream cheese for 1/2 cup of lemon curd is a good ratio.
Yes, yes...frame that beautiful photo! Have a lovely Easter weekend!
oh sweet christina
thank you so much... ♥
your image is beyond... i adore the scale...
can't thank you enough for your kind and generous sharing about the textures...
sigh.....
as for the lemon dessert... hmmmm...

smitten kitchen is always a lovely place to go...and be inspired...
if i think of something i will be back...

My, oh my how wonderful the strawberries look!!! I personally love Lemon Meringue Pie but it's not easy to make that's why I don't make it very often...Wishing you a wonderful day! And Thank you! Cathy
Listen to your daughter, that photo would be lovely framed! It's already lovely!
Sending you a lemon cheesecake recipe...one of my faves and so easy!
Love the photo!
Have a lovely day!
My pulse rate drops (in a really good way) when I visit here. Feels like I am in your kitchen and it's just lovely.
What a wonderful Easter you have planned, enjoy and Happy Easter to you all!
gorgeous gorgeous shot...
we are planning our Easter, too...and as always...it's got to be easy-peasy...calm delights.. and of course...the main agreement...peace.
lemon bars cannot go wrong...my husbands specialty...
your daughter is right ...a frame for this one...the shade of the scale or even red!?
that photo is quietly beautiful ... Easter blessings
...mmm, somrthing with lemon, that sounds so good, perfect for springtime.
You know Christina, this image would look beautiful on stretched canvas, your daughter has a great idea...it's beautiful.
Oh yes...this is a framer. When I first saw this photo I gasped...so simple and beautiful. I have a strawberry photo on my blog today...I at them with fresh multi- grain bread and taleggio cheese...slowly... ;)
"eat, read, fall asleep under handmade quilts"...that sounds so wonderful! Happy planning!
made it through the rainy day here. cozying up under my handmade quilt with my precious child. bliss.
fantastic photo!!!
gorgeous shot!! you should totally frame it.
now the simplest lemon dessert ever!
EAGLE BRAND LEMON ICEBOX PIE
1 can eagle brand milk
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup lemon juice (i use hand squeezed)
1 graham cracker crust
If you are 'iffy' about uncooked eggs, you can pop it in a low oven for about 5 or so minutes to take care of that problem. I use eggland eggs and never worry about them.
top with some sweetened whipped cream or berries.
It was a pony tail, converse sneaks and baseball style shirt day here. Casual and fun. Love it. Glad you enjoyed the day too.
I have no lemon dessert suggestions - but I love lemon too!
Love the thought of a ponytail and converse... I wore my hair in two braids today...every once in a while I just have to do it. Is that wrong when you're 43? No? Good...I didn't think so!
I think the same way about framing my own photos...so weird to imagine. But I'm getting ready to do an art festival and I've been encouraged to frame some of my photos. So we'll see how it goes. I think your photo would be beautiful framed and hanging in a kitchen...
hello, lovely blog! I wanted to thank you for the sweet postcard through sperlygirls postcard swap. the message was much appreciated!

Beautiful photo, and yes frame it! I like a simple lemony cheesecake for a finish. Happy Easter to you and your family.
Oh, that photos is so happy, Christina! Lately I am celebrating the everyday too...the ordinary-extraordinary, as I like to say. And every day is--extraordinary. Planning Easter here too. We visit hubby's family tomorrow. But it will be just us two the day. mmm..lemon... I make a super lemon cheesecake with gingersnap crust... Glad to share the recipe. Just email me if you'd like it. Wishing you & your a beautiful & blessed Easter weekend coming up. :o) ((HUGS))
your textures are beautiful, so realistic! i always feel so relaxed after visiting you. a lemon desert does sound fabulous!
happy Easter dear Christine, to you and your beautiful family.
hugs,
Oh my gosh, this is one of your photographs, Christina? I thought it was an oil painting! Yes, you should definitely frame this image. It's absolutely beautiful.
You and I are on the same page regarding lemons for Easter dinner dessert. I have six sitting in my fridge right now. Recently, I made my first successful lemon meringue pie (my previous attempts ended up as lemon meringue soup!). Thanks to Emeril Lagasse and the Food Network and a couple phone calls to mom back in Canada, this one turned out perfect!
Anyway, I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Easter weekend, Christina.
I don't have a recipe, but I went to a coffee shop the other weekend that is well known for its pies and had a piece of Shaker lemon. I usually prefer sweet to tart, but this was amazing. Every few bites, I'd come to a long thing strip of lemon.
I hope you have a wonderful Easter!
I am enjoying the velvet roses photograph in a frame here at my desk. Love lemon desserts. If you need one, lemon tarts of lemon bundt cake are lovely for Easter. Let me know and I would send it. Easter preparations are on there way here.
Your Easter sounds so lovely Christina and I'm loving the idea of games on your chipped antique table. Bingo sounds lots of fun and the reading of books and being snuggled under those handmade quilts. Have a wonderful weekend and I hope your lemon dessert goes well! :)
Might? Might? Must, more like.
Your daughter loves your art. Your daughter supports your art. Your daughter wants one of your creations on the wall. Might??
wow! this is beeeeeeeautiful!
yes! yes! frame it!
i really lov it!
Oh lemon is my favourite dessert flavour ever! I bet these are good:

That photo is beautiful! Love! Lemon is my favorite desert, it always has been--lemon merangue pie, but a good lemon square these days satisfies--hope you find the perfect recipe. It sounds so nice, your easter plans (and I can totally see you as a somelier)...
