long country roads

last weekend we went away
+
we left the city behind
*
long country roads became our friends
*
the to do lists were forgotten
the chores  were put on hold
*
in an antique store i found a tattered e.e. cummings book of poetry
+
an old pentax film camera
swoon!
an old snowy inn was our destination
+
time stood still
*
happy snowy saturday!

It is always so nice to get a chance to get away, to get away from the everyday. An inn out in the country sounds like the perfect place to breathe, slowly. But the part? Coming home. It always feels so good to see the front porch welcoming me back...

Happy weekend!

Sounds like the best kind of getaway...

my first serious camera was a pentax film camera...since it was bought new in 1972 I think it is now considered vintage:)...I still have it...I'm pretty vintage too:)

I haven't been out of the city in so long. It's such a shame. The main reason I moved to Canada was the space. More space per person than Ireland. And here I am, stuck in my 800 sq ft, always working instead. You've reminded me how I ought to be spending my time!

Sounds perfect Christina, poetry and a pentax, (sounds like a winning combination :)). We had a little snow again this weekend but not much. Happy Monday to you!

Lovely! Isn't leaving the city behind soul-cleansing?
