standing at the counter

i am slow, slow moving this morning. january does that to me. sigh.
i stayed up last night, reading a book called "the brooklyn follies".i have heard so many good things about it. i love it so far.
yesterday i started cracking up laughing, when people looked my way, as i squealed, flipping through the film i had developed. remember those days, standing at the counter, going through your pics? sparkle sparkle
looking forward to February~ it's the month of love. and i seriously dig that.
how is your wednesday, so far?

Today's a great day because this evening will be spent with girlfriends—dinner and book group discussion. Love these photos, especially that door (a garage door?). It looks mysterious...I wonder what's behind it.

Yes, I used to love that, getting the photos, the real photos! I'll soon be doing the same as I've been shooting in film!
Looking forward to February too!

photos are great! getting them...looking at them...putting them in albums.

been up for awhile. restless. helped daughter get dressed for playing dress-up. i have an itching for creating something with my hands...finding just what that will be.

the sun is out today. i'm smiling.

Oh Paul Auster is just divine. I love him and am so glad you love the book!

January is such a tough month, I think this third week in particular. Big hugs and we can get through it!

LOVE the soft and gentleness, the hint of pale lemon in these images, Christina! :o) I can relate to the slooow... January is a tough month here in Norway, it's the really slow month. It feels natural though, almost like semi-hibernating! ;o) It's snowin' & blowin' here today. I'm happy to be working in my studio drinking hot chocolate today! Wishing you a sweet one :o) ((HUGS))

Here at our photo lab we had always been on the other side of the counter listening to people squeal with delight. I miss that. It was always great fun.

Christina, January & February does this to me too. Soooo sloooow, to move, to react ... I like the pictures. It feels like I'm standing in the room looking out of 'my' window...The other day I bought myself pink roses, pink calender, pink candle. Deep pink colors. I'm in a need of colors. Big rich colors. The roses and the calender made me think of you :-). Thank you for your gentle comment! Have a nice day.

Christina, I too am moving slow today, I look around and see all I should do, but it will have to wait till the energy truck comes my way.I love that you squeal when seeing your photos. They are so beautiful. Have a wonderful day.

Every time I hear the word Sparkle I think of you. So far my Wednesday is sitting here in my robe visiting lovely people like you. But it will be a good day, soon I must get dressed and go to the camera shop, then off to have tea with a new blogging friend. Someday I hope to have tea with you.

My Wednesday is great so far. I'm still at Holly and Richard's, will be leaving in the morning. I got a good breath stealing laugh this morning at breakfast! I had mixed up some biscuits from a Knott's gift set they had received at Christmas. We were at the table eating and Richard took a big bite of his with jam and it began to crumb right out of his mouth...he's funny anyway....and I said something about the biscuits not being good and the look on his face has he said "I'm sorry" as the biscuit continued to crumb, was priceless. You had to be there. :) They were SO DRY! It was awful!!and awfully FUNNY! LOL
You just can't beat homemade!!

Have a great week my friend!

January brings about a restless notion that I'm heading in wrong directions. I'll catch my focus soon.

I'll just sip tea for awhile and ponder the story of your yellow tinged photo collage.

Bright hugs on a gray day!

such memories you bring from me the smiles of a fresh package of photos...the tone in your mosaic is pure butter...if that makes sense

Hello Christina, my Wednesday is very similar to yours - slow! I blame it on bleak weather and lack of sun. It's late now and I'm off to sleep soon... hopefully sun will come out tomorrow!

love getting film developed....it's been a long time since I've taken photos on film.
my wednesday has been a bit unreal with news that we may be getting transferred very far away...very far...Yukon far (next to Alaska)

I can understand you squealing with delight at the photos you developed, Christina. My goodness, you just get better and better as a photographer. That collage is breathtaking in its beauty and simplicity... even, somehow, its honesty. (Maybe you understand what I mean?)

My Wednesday was actually full of grace and moments of light. I assume it's because this is the first day I've felt back to 100% since getting a little sick. :)

Oh yes, I remember those days. My first job in high school was working part-time at a 1-hour photo shop.

How was my Wednesday? It was rainy and gloomy here in SF, but I hopped on a ferry and took a wild ride across the bay anyway. It was a good day.

Love your photos Christina...they inspire me to get out my old SLR and see what I remember...and to have a laugh at the counter:)

January is my birth month so while cold dreary and exhausting I can't dislike it. I love these photos. We recently found some film at the in laws and it was loads of photos of my husband around 3 or 4...soooo very cute!
