the paths they strolled

william loved irene
and
irene loved william
and if it weren't for their love of photography
i wouldn't have the
memories captured through
photographs
that i do
*
william
+
irene
are my grandparents
and
even though they are now gone
they left for me
 their love of the lens
*
as
i walked along the paths they once strolled
and
stopped in front of the house
william nervously asked irene to marry him
deep sigh
thank you
from the bottom of my heart
*
i raised my lens
*
then
 today
when i turned in my
photographs
of how i see the city
i  dedicated my work
to
william
+
irene
because they loved me
+
i love them
*

I'm so proud of you!
Not only are William and Irene blessing you. I see that Robert Doisneau has blessed that camera of yours as well. Your work for the city always reminds me of him.
Beautiful shots!

to walk along the foot path of those we deem so magnificent, and to call them ours, be their blood, and understand their passion - this is one of the greatest gifts of all.

Christina,

The depth of your sweet passion continues to astound me and invites me to remember. I never knew my grandmothers, but my parents taught me what love is and to them I am forever grateful.

A lovely memorial to William and Irene; so filled with love.

I had William and Myrtle. Myrtle was not my biological grandmother, but she loved me just the same.

Thanks for stirring the memories.

Will you please post some photos of (or taken by) your grandparents? Your photograph is just stunning.

My parents and I have been reminiscing about the grandparents all day. Gerald and Margie (my father's) and Eula and Martin (my mother's). That ís one of the things I love most about Christmas: that chain of memory that links us to the past.

Beautiful - I love how your grandparents influenced you and your amazing photographic eye. My own grandparents, Monette and Lucille, were special to me. They loved me unconditionally and encouraged me to do what I wanted. xoxox

Sometimes I still cry because I miss my granny and grandad so much. They died when I was very young. My grandad was a William too. But went by Will. Will and Gran Mary-Jo.
