thankful

Last night I met my husband for dinner, then we headed to the bookstore for apple cider.
I will be so happy, for our little family to have this time off for Thanksgiving ; ) We talked a lot about that. And we held hands. : )

I am thankful for love.

I am playing referee today, to my kids.
"He won't stop staring at me. "She is looking at me"
Eh naw! If non ya looken at da notha, ya wan know, hem staring, she looken!...
Ah yeah, let them figure that one out. : ) Hello Jamaica!

I'm thankful for my teenagers. Big smile.

Laundry, laundry calling my name. I adore the smell of fresh clothes from the dryer.
I am thankful for my old, noisy washer and dryer. Yes I am. : )

Looking through my recipes for baked brie~ Swoon!

Turkey is in the fridge.

Coffee-table books, set out for reading guests.

The cornbread in the oven, as I type. I will leave it out, to get it stale for Thursday. Yum to cornbread dressing.

I am thankful for the food on our table.

We are expecting snow for Thanksgiving. I appreciate that. I could possibly get a Christmas photo for the holidays yet.

Life... life... it's good.

I'm thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving, my dear friends.

One love~

Hello Jamaica indeed!! Makes me smile. Do you know facety? Am I spelling it right? I have a friend who tells me I'm that quite often...his mama is from Jamaica!! :)

I love what you are thankful for -- I love that you and your husband held hands while you talked over your cider.

I love how the children fight -- reminds me of when my boys were younger and they'd do that -- who am I kidding, at nearly 18 and 22 they still do that!! :)

Love the photo -- love you!! ♥

mmmmmmm, cornbread dressing - the height of yumminess. i can't wait to make mine this weekend. my brothers want to go out for the dinner so we will not cook. i'm a bit disappointed but then again, it will be fun to go together with no worries.

i remember the looking at me fuss...it seems eternal with all children.

xoxox my friend - have a beautiful holiday weekend.

Hehe...snow for a Christmas photo. I have been waiting for the same thing, so I can make my own Christmas cards, but living on the west coast where it is mild, doesn't give me a whole lot of hope! Just lot's of rain. Maybe I will have to settle for a christmas-light-in-the-rain kind of picture instead!
Happy Thanksgiving to you, dear Christina (feels so weird saying that, as we already celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada a month ago!)
Cornbread dressing sounds so yummy!!! Save me some?

Baked brie...the best...especially when you add some pecans and apricot jam on top of the brie then place the dough over that and bake...

my old dryer was making a funny noise...it needed a new motor and they are coming today with the new part....

twice in five days I've been to the laundromat to dry my things...I kind of like it there, but I'll be thankful to have my dryer up and running again.

happy thanksgiving

Christina...thank you so much for stopping by..and YES ! that is my doggy. His name is Butterscotch, but we call him Buddy. He is 14 years old and blind. I have to carry him in the house, but he seems to make it around the block on his walks...I just steer him and tell him"careful" if he looks like he might bump into something. He is hand fed and watered too...and I've loved every day with him...had him since he was 8 weeks old....

Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving dear friend.

I must get in the kitchen and make my cornbread; so it can dry out. Love cornbread dressing. Tomorrow will be baking day with pies, cornbread, cranberry chutney all needing to be made.

Good luck with the referee job.

Dear, dear, Christina,

I am counting you among my blessings this year. Your words, images always capture love. Sweet love. Like sweet tea served with hot homemade biscuits dripping with butter and honey love. Thank you.

I have not commented lately, but not because I have not been reading you. Your posts have given me strength, laughter and pause while I had a house stricken with this nasty flu. We are all well now, just in time for the holidays. Another blessing. But you helped and I thank you.

As I was reading your plans for treats, I was happy to see that we will be sharing some of the same things and (silly me) thought it was cool that we would be sharing this special meal together!

With the brie, my daughter uses filo dough squares smeared with apricot preserves and a chunk of brie, then folds and bakes. Yum. Yum. Yum.

For the cornbread stuffing, this is my special dish for my husband. Just for him, though others can share. I combine the corn bread with sage sausage, cranberries, walnuts, (pecans, too, if he has been really good), and fresh pears. Sounds like a mess, but it so good! It especially does my heart good to find my DH eating it right out the bowl from the 'fridge well after dinner is done. That's when I know it was done right.

So, although this note is longer than I intended, I hope you can feel the hugs in between the lines and my gratitude for being here.

Happy thanksgiving!

Cyndy

I wanted to stop by tonight and wish you a happy, happy Thanksgiving. Tomorrow is bound to be crazy and I didn't want the holiday to pass without me wishing you the happiest, most delicious Thanksgiving ever. I count you as a blessing, my dear, dear friend. Much love to you and yours.

Me too - what Relyn said. Tomorrow I will be at my mother's eating more cornbread dressing than should be legal, it is the best stuff in the world and I am glad to not have it too often, to keep it as a special treat. Have a fun day tomorrow - I will send snowy thoughts your way, although coming from Texas they may not work. I will try doubly hard!
