Hey there, how are you?
I am loving this, Sunday afternoon.
The sunday paper is still sprawled everywhere, coffee mugs are ready to be washed.
Sweet potato chips and red stripe, go nice with the football games. Hello Jamaica! : )
I browned some chicken breast and placed them in the crock pot.
Deglazed the pan with some mirin sauce and created an alfredo sauce, with onions and mushrooms. Its warming in the crock pot with the chicken. I thought I would toss it with some whole wheat pasta. Can you believe this is the first time, I am trying whole wheat pasta? I think it should be good.
Speaking of cooking, I purchased a cookbook. Yes, me! I rarely buy cookbooks. ; ) Friday night, I bought "falling cloudberries" Let me just say this, I believe this is the cookbook, that can bring me back to trying recipes. Thank you Tessa Kiros, you have passed on recipes that warm me.
Finally loaded the Maxwell c.d, on my ipod. Swoon~
I'm going to go finish my laundry now.
Enjoy your Sunday!
Peace~

25 ladlefuls of love:
I could go for a Red Stripe or a Dragon Stout.
Oh yes to Red Stripe!!! :)
I love the name of that cookbook.."falling cloudberries" -- it sounds like whatever is inside would melt in your mouth...
as would that chicken in your crock pot!! mmmmm...enjoy that whole wheat pasta!!! Soooo good for you!! ♥
Sounds delciious! I think I can smell it from here. Such a lovely, lovely, day!
sounds so good...all except the laundry..oh well has to be done!
Falling Cloudberries is a beautiful book. I can see why Tessa K's style would appeal to you.
We had whole wheat pasta tonight, too. ;) And I'm doing the laundry. I love how these little things connect us.
oh yeah! I love Red Stripe--I only drink it when I'm out though....why is that??
oh dear, I am not a fan of ww pasta though--I have tried and tried to like it, maybe there are better options than years ago....let us know how it turns out--the rest sounds HEAVENLY--
oh and Maxwell--bring on the fainting couch...swoon is right!
I got me some apple crumble thrown together in the oven...not sure what we're eatin for dinner tho...maybe apple crumble.
happy sunday!
...deglazed the pan...deglazed the pan... Now I have to go look that up. I do not believe I have ever deglazed de pan before. Is that french?
Wish you have a delicious week , too !! :D
A perfect day! And those sweet potato chips looks awesome...can only imagine how good it is with the beer. Yum!
Mmmm... I want to taste that chicken. And I adore the description of the Sunday newspaper, "still sprawled everywhere." It made your house feel like my house :)
Sweet potato chips and beer..how good is that!
xo
I'll take a RED STRIPE please and to go with, how about some deep fried conch fritters? Oh yes! And some fish fingers?
I'm craving Bahamian food now. Oh lord, it's late and I'm craving deep fried good stuff and beer.
I'd best go to bed or this will result in 300 calories!
You bought a cookbook? You could write one! Now I'll do what you did for dinner tomorrow. In fact, I'll go get the chicken out of the deep freeze, to make a delicious dinner.
The organic whole grain penne ziti is my favourite. Doll it up sometime with ground turkey stir fried in garlic and onions, mix in stewed or crushed tomatoes, and WHOA. Melt cheese on top of course, and you'll be a happy lady.
xoxoxo
sounds like a wonderful sunday .... the chips - Divine!!!
i love whole wheat pasta... too bad nobody else in the house does.. :)
hope you had a wonderful sunday
i recently bought falling cloudberries too! and i haven't cooked anything out of it yet, but i absolutely love reading it!!
it makes me feel on the same wavelength with you that we got the same cookbook. and that's a good way to start my monday.

NO FAIR! Where's my Red Stripe? Or did Kingston take it already?
Enjoy your day my friend.
What a sweet and tasty Sunday, Christina!...mmmhhhmmmm... Thank you for the cookbook recommendation--I'm always looking for a new foodie-read. LOVE whole wheat pasta--it just more "tooth" and really fills you up. But right now I could go for one of those sweet tater chips... ;o) Happy week, my friend ((HUGS))
I would buy that cookbook just because of the title...how cool is falling cloudberries ?
A Red Stripe awaits me when the job is done. Must say I prefer regular old chips to sweet potato...organic Kettle potato chips.
Your chicken sounds lovely. I like quinoa pasta.
What a lovely Sunday. I hope the chicken with the wholewheat pasta was as good as it sounds.
Your Sunday must have been beautiful... and that chicken couldn't have been anything other than delicious!
I'm not a cookbook fan, but sounds like you're in love so it's worth taking a peek. :-)
(((hugs))),
love,
me
I think I need you for a neighbor...I have lost my cooking mojo...created brownies that could double as hockey pucks...do not remember ever doing stuff like that!!!
Did you make the sweet potato chips? Sounds like a bit o heaven!
Yum - sounds great to me.
I need to listen to Maxwell. This made me think of my most recent discovery. You aren't going to believe it has taken me this long, but... Tom Waits. Oh my!
Christina! What a fantastic post...I feel like I could walk right in your door, sit down, crack open a red stripe whilst waiting for the chicken to cook and have a good old chinwag! This post has cheered me up...obviously reaches me on some funny level (food and drink methinks..heehee!)
