My day off was so nice. I started the day by sipping coffee by the peonies in the back yard. I think peonies are just the sweetest, smelling flowers. I cut the peonies back a bit, and found a perfect place for one on the mantel. Each time I walked past this simple flower, it made me smile. Simple... I dig that.
PS: Thank you for your comments. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
One love~

Oh such beautiful pictures, I can almost smell the flowers from here.
I loved the Baroni Pasta ad over your mantel!
LOVE the haunting beauty of your white peonies, Chrsitina...*SIGH*... We have 4 pink ones, but I've been wanting a pair of white one for a while... Your room is very inviting and cozy. Those pears on your mantlepiece look very like one I showed from my place last week ;o) Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))
Pretty! The white one's seem to smell the sweetest too — I did a "sniff test" between pink, white, and magenta just last night ;) Did you know there's also a yellow variety as well? I photographed one last year at the Smith Botanic Gardens...
I'm glad to read you had such a nice day off and your photographs... so peaceful and restful. Thank you. With warm wishes to you, Vxx
flowers should be an absolute. like milk in the fridge. we should panic, oh my goodness, we are out of flowers, can you run our and pick some up. where the heck are our priorities?
Peonies are my favourite flowers of all times!!!! U light up my life!!!
I love peonies! The smell, the look-- I wish they lasted longer. (Though that may be part of why we enjoy them so much!) Love the single white peony--simple and beautiful!
the sweet things of life : a day off and fragrant peonies...
and..what scrumptious food are you concocting in your kitchen, sweetie ?
:-)
Your peonies are beautiful Christina!
They are such a special flower. So grand and delicate.
They look pretty gracing your home too.
When we lived in New Jersey, I was able to see them grow, it was a thrill. Here in Tx. a friend Sharon, finally had one pink blossom this year (the only one I've ever seen grow in this state). She gave it to my mom. It touched our hearts so!
One love, yes!

i liked you before but now that i see you have a baroni picture over your fire place- i think that just about seals the deal with me. lol
you have a beautiful home.
I love simple, too !
it took me a long time in my life to see that, but now I can't enough "simple"
OH, I do love a peony. So much. I even love the ants they bring inside with them.
Peonies, peonies everywhere! Utter gorgeousness..your home looks lovely by the way!
The penies are beautiful, I have 2 that will bloom in about 2 weeks. I can hardly wait. I love simple too. Nothing better. Take care, cinner
I have one in my front yard that is almost ready to open.
The peonies are gorgeous - and that image on the fireplace mantel, too! I love peonies; how wonderful that you have them growing in your yard! xoxox
Gorgeous peonies! My favorite flower. Nothing transports me back to childhood more than their lush scent.

I love the fireplace! The peonies are beautiful. I love the smell of them.
Everything flower-related DIES in this freakin' desert.
Just beautiful! I love the one on your mantlepiece....we have peonies just flowering now, pink ones, in our garden. I've never had peonies in my garden before!! I'm so excited, along with poppies and hollyhocks and irises and roses and daisies and ALL SORTS! Such blessings.
Absolutely gorgeous Christina!
I love those peonies! They always brighten up a room!
I adore peonies and yours are spectacular. We just did a wedding with white peonies this weekend. I just posted the photos on Flickr. I prefer them simple as well. I think they are best when they fly solo. No other flowers could compete with them anyway.
I've always loved that Pasta Baroni poster. At some point, I think I'll need to get it. I love it because it has pasta, is perfect for a kitchen or dining room, and because I lived near the Baroni pizza/spaghetti sauce "factory" when I was growing up. :)
That peony is gorgeous
Peonies are so magical with their fluttery petals, they always make me smile just because they're so simple and so lovely. Your white ones look so gorgeous and I love that one flower has the ability to brighten your mood every time you walk past it...
They are just so beautiful! Just looking at your photos, I can smell them in my mind!
Christina, I have an award for you on my blog. Stop by when you get a chance and pick it up!
wonderful!
there is nothing like an all white peony! just so stunning.
oh, you have to go back and look at the comment you left on my blog yesterday. i think it was a typo. i don't think you meant to type what you actually did. but it gave me quite a chuckle. i was taken back at first—thinking, "oh, this does not sound like her." then i realized it must be a typo. love it! thanks for the smiles.
Christina the photos are beautiful. I love flowers myself and bringing them indoors always brightens any day.

Those white peonies are absolutely beautiful! :)
I love peonies. We had them in our yard growing up. Your home seems so peaceful and it's beautiful.
Ah ... the white peony! I've gotten so used to her pretty shades of pink that I had almost forgotten about her lovely white. Thanks for posting some pretty pics as a reminder!
