The beautiful Susanna sent me her winged messengers, a while ago. I have carried them around hoping to find a beautiful place to release them; allow them to fly. I have taken them out of my backpack, as I swayed back and forth on the train, heading home, waiting patiently and dreaming of just the right spot to free them.
Have I ever told you there is a foster home/school, not too far from where I live? Each time I pass this home filled with children, I say a prayer for them. Inside my heart breaks, I want to hug each one of them, and tell them... it will get better, don't give up.
Ironically there is a construction site (across the way) where there are beautiful lofts being built. Homes.
I noticed the open staircase from a distance... through the fence. The sun danced on the steps and called my name, at the same time. I listened. I turned the wings toward the foster home play ground, with hope that each child will dream big, be blessed and occasionally notice this same sunset, that called my name.
The wings read~ "tell your dreams to someone" Thank you, Susanna. You are talented beyond words. xo
I hung these worded wings, for the unsung heros...
the neighborhood
hoop dreams
peace
the rap lyrics scribbled on a note pad
poetry
the good
the book that may change a life
hope
prayers
; )

I absolutely love the idea of these winged messages. Your placement of this message was perfection, both in the visual and spiritual sense. I will tell my dream to you: I dream that these children will carry your message in their hearts and realize every told dream.
Brilliant, Christina. Just brilliant. You rock! xoxox
I know you probably think I am crazy but there are times I just come to visit and enjoy the peacefulness here. I used to read you on typed pad and enjoyed you very much. You might not remember me. I told you once about how I taught film photography for 20 years.
My you have come a long way. Your photos are solid and honest. I appreciate that. You have expanded quite lovely withe your camera. Still your urban captures are impeccable.
Keep up the fantastic work.
J.Howard* Yes sir, I do remember you. You explained in detail, how to frame a shot. I still have thank email. I certainly hope I thanked you properly then for your advice. Just in case. I thank you from the bottom of my shutter buggin, heart. ; )
Oh my, Christina, this post is so moving. I'm sitting here this morning with tears in my eyes. This photo speaks volumes and your words - your words! You are a talented woman who speaks straight from her heart. Thank you so much for being a part of my project, Christina.
Dream big. Always dream big.
What a wonderful idea, giving a bit of hope to those that pass by. Why don't people put up more signs like that? Reminders that somewhere, someone is thinking that things can be better, things can be happier, and life is worth embracing.
Sometimes it only takes a sentence, a hug or even just a look to change someone's day. Good for you for looking out for those that might need it.

Those wings may save someone's soul. A beautiful thing to do.
Here via Susanna's wings and truly touched by your words and thoughts. Susanna is a gentle soul, full of talent, and a great friend. My 13 year old daughter Cat also had the privilege of photographing a pair of Susanna's wings during her vacation to Portugal last year.
Just beautiful, and so thoughtful. Sometimes it is the simple acts that create the biggest dreams. Thank you.
This is beautiful and so fitting you tell us about the foster home/ school as these kids nee to dream and be heard the most. A little care can go a long way.

Your poetry touches my soul. You have framed this beautifully. I am glad to have found you through Susanna's blog.
My heart ached when I read your post, you did a beautiful and angelic thing. Oh, I do believe in dreams - that everyone should have one, even a tiny little one and a little bit of faith to add with it.
Hope you're having a great week.
You have such a good heart, Christina. I'm sure God is listening.

WOW! I love this photograph - the way the sunsets on those steps, a path, a path leading to those dreams. Your compassion for everyone touches my heart greatly -I love that you say a prayer for these children, that you think of them, sending out your love to them, along with your winged dreams.
i am speechless
my eyes filled with tears
heart-breaking and beautiful at the same time
that message can change a child's life
I pray for children too. They are gift from God no matter how anyone else treats them. Children will always be blessed angels.
What a lovely idea - really very thoughtful and sounds like you found the perfect place! Big Hugs:)
This really touched my heart.
I love how you always take me to a place that lifts me up, that fills me with hope, that gently reminds me to look beyond myself.
I will hold the children and their dreams in my heart.
Thank you, dear friend. :)
Firstly these messengers are so lovely and I love the idea behind them and secondly you are so full of compassion Christina and I hope that each child sees your message of hope and promise.
The photo is so beautiful with the amazing light and urban background and I could look at it for so long. I think this would make an amazing postcard that you could have sitting on your desk to remind you to dream big and release those dreams into the world...magic!
ps. I love how if you follow the stairs in the background, you get higher and higher until you reach the sunlight and then those wings - wow!
You put the messenger's wings in the right place! A beautiful photo too!
